The Hines Park lights in Wayne County are located in Westland, Michigan, about 16 miles (25 kilometers) west of downtown Detroit. Merriman Road leads to the entrance to the light show (between Ann Arbor Trail and Warren Ave.) The Lightfest opening ceremony is held every November and includes music, drinks, and pyrotechnics. The Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit will offer entertainment, and Santa will make an appearance. The event will be followed by the lighting of the switch, which will begin the annual Lightfest.

The yearly local custom of a month-and-a-half-long Christmas dream is an absolute must for all children in the region. Nearly 50 moving displays with over 100,000 lights along a 6.5-kilometer (4-mile) section of Hines Park. Visitors may not only drive through, but also run, walk, or cycle through one of the Midwest’s greatest Christmas displays.
The cold in the air means the holidays are approaching, and Hines Drive, The Wayne County Hines park lights, which were officially turned on on Thursday, are looking quite festive.
This year, several new displays have been introduced, while some old favorites have been brought back, such as Santa’s mailbox. It is located halfway down Hines Drive, and in previous years, children could jump out and drop their letters in the mailbox, but owing to the pandemic, it was closed in 2020. It’s returning this year.
There have been new light displays added, bringing the total number of light shows to 50 and a million, many of which now use brilliant LEDs that are more environmentally friendly and provide a lovely festive glow.

Hines park lights hours & Schedule
From November. 19th to Dec. 31st, the exhibit, which extends along Hines from Merriman to around Outer Drive, is open to the public. It is closed on Christmas Day. It costs $5 to rent an automobile.
From now through December 31, the Wayne County Hines park lights will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday (closed Monday and Tuesday) (Closed December 25).

This year, Wayne County will provide radio notifications to keep guests up to date on essential show details. Visitors may get regular information on wait times, traffic flow, special activities, and event expenses by tuning into AM 1640 within three to five miles of the Lightfest gate.
Midway through the presentation, visitors can stop by Perrin Park to send off a letter to Santa in the enormous mailbox, visit the food stand, and use the restrooms.
On Wednesdays, November 24, December 1, December 8, and December 15, Item Night, which lets visitors to give a new, unwrapped toy in lieu of paying the automobile admission charge, will take place. Commercial vehicles will not be allowed to enter for free. Furthermore, Wayne County is collaborating with Detroit Harmony to expand children’s music education alternatives in Detroit. On November 24 and December 1, visitors can donate a new or used musical instrument to be handed to a local student.
If you wish to purchase tickets for coworkers, friends, or family members in advance, you may do so at the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center in Westland’s walk-up window Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The tickets are $5 each for each car. Nankin Mills is situated in Westland at 33175 Ann Arbor Trail. Cash, cheque, or VISA/Mastercard can be used to purchase pre-paid tickets at Nankin Mills Interpretive Center, or over the phone with a credit card at (734) 261-1990, and tickets will be mailed to you. Please note that tickets purchased in person at the Lightfest are the same price as those purchased online, however they must be paid in CASH only.
